My non-existent accent
I just took the "What American Accent Do You Have?" quiz, and my result was Midland, which is apparently synonymous with no accent. I suppose that goes along with the response I usually get from people I meet. My accent, though I believe existent, is at least hard to place. No one I've met has ever guessed I'm from Alabama. A big reason for that, I think, is the fact that my parents don't have strong accents. My mom may be from Tennessee but, like me, she doesn't sound like it. My dad on the other hand grew up mostly in Oklahoma, so his accent is Midland, I suppose.
